GBoarse terms

A complete simulated market, which is not an investment service, not a broker and not an exchange — plus the instrument mode that says whether a price was manipulable.

  4. Instrument modes, which are the honest part
  5. Bots and API keys

  7. No warranty, no service level, and limited liability

This applies alongside the general terms of service and privacy policy. Where they differ on a point about GBoarse specifically, this page wins.

What this covers

GBoarse is a simulated stock market: a full central limit order book, every order type, instruments from shares to options and futures, corporate actions, margin and settlement, a central bank per currency, and an economic simulation behind the prices. It is built for a handful of human users and a few dozen bots.

These sit alongside the general terms of service.

It is a simulation

Nothing here is a real security, a real currency or real money. No order reaches a real venue, no position is a real holding, and no balance is redeemable for anything.

This is not an investment service, not a broker, not an exchange, and nothing it produces is financial advice or a price you should rely on for any real decision. It is a model, and the point of it is to be a complete and faithful one.

Licence

GBoarse is licensed under the Elastic License 2.0, plus one additional restriction from us: commercial use requires a business licence.

That addition is stated separately because ELv2 does not contain it. ELv2's own limitations are three — you may not provide the software to others as a hosted or managed service, may not circumvent the licence-key functionality, and may not remove or alter the licensing, copyright or other notices — and it otherwise permits a company to run the software commercially for its own internal purposes. Our additional term removes that permission.

Non-commercial use on your own infrastructure is free of charge. Commercial use of any kind, including internal use inside a business, needs a business licence from us.

It is being folded into GPlatform. Where you use the hosted service, the data processing agreement and its annex apply.

Instrument modes, which are the honest part

Each instrument runs in a declared mode: Study, where an administrator can manipulate anything; Basic and Standard; and Production, where there is no manipulation at all.

The mode is a property of the instrument rather than a setting somebody remembers, because a market that can be quietly adjusted and a market that cannot are different objects, and anyone reading a price off one of them is entitled to know which they are looking at.

Do not present output from a Study-mode instrument as though it came from an unmanipulated market.

Bots and API keys

API keys are issued per account, carry scopes and an instrument allowlist, and are rate-limited. Their secrets are stored as hashes.

You are responsible for what your bots do. A bot that hammers the engine will be rate-limited, and a key can be revoked.

Availability

No service level is promised unless a separate signed agreement states one. The simulation clock, engine snapshots and scenario runs are operational features and not a guarantee that any state is preserved forever.

No warranty, no service level, and limited liability

This product is provided as it is and as it happens to be available, without warranty of any kind, and is used at your own risk. No uptime, response time or restoration time is owed unless a separate signed agreement states one. Where it is provided free of charge, liability is limited to intent and gross negligence (Section 521 BGB).

To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable for damage arising from its use, its unavailability, or any loss of data — and keeping your own backups is your responsibility. The limits that mandatory law requires, the exclusions that apply within them, and the additional cap that applies to business customers are set out in full in the general terms of service, which govern this product and are not restated here.
